The Irish coastguard winches the two men to safety

By Q Radio news

Two climbers have been seriously injured but are "stable" after falling up to 50 metres at Fair Head near Ballycastle.

They were taking part in an annual event which draws rock climbers from across the British Isles.

It's understood the men ended up in an area known as "Hell's Kitchen" and had to be winched to safety by an Irish coastguard helicopter.

They were then flown to the Royal Victoria Hospital in Belfast to be treated for broken bones and friction burns.

As soon as the incident happened multiple 999 calls were made to the emergency services.
