David Tweed

The Public Prosecution Service will decide over possible further charges against former Ballymena Borough  Councillor David Tweed.

The Court of Appeal has ruled that the ex-Ireland Rugby International player will not be automatically ordered to face a re-trial on child sex abuse allegations.

Fifty-seven-year-old Tweed was found guilty in 2012 on thirteen counts.

He was jailed eight years but released in October 2016 when his convictions were quashed.
