Foyle police involved in 'joint operation' in Swansea

Police from Derry-Londonderry travelled to Swansea earlier this week and as part of a joint operation with South Wales Police,

A premises was searched and a 27 year old man was arrested before being transported back to Northern Ireland for questioning.

As a result the man has been charged in relation to a number of suspected drugs offences surrounding the supply of Diazepam and Xanax into Northern Ireland.

During the search approximately 11,000 Diazepam tablets were seized, as well as a quantity of Xanax with a street value of approximately £12,000.

He is due to appear at Londonderry Magistrates Court on Friday.

Police added they are committed to removing illegal drugs from the community.
