Nathan Carter "gobsmacked" to be singing before The Pope

Country singing sensation Nathan Carter says he was "gobsmacked" to be asked to perform before the Pope.

Pope Francis will begin a papal visit to Dublin next month for the World Meeting of Families.

The Liverpudlian, whose parents hail from the Newry area of County Down, has told Q Radio he's honoured to be playing at Croke park.

Ahead of the Pope's visit Nathan will perform at the first ever ‘Gig at the Garden’ in the grounds of Lissan House, Cookstown,  on
Saturday the 11th August.

More Power To Your Elbow will play a lively, high octane headline gig on the opening night with rock chics Orlaith and Mollie playing support, alongside The
Quinn Irish Dancers.

Star of ‘Hit the Diff’ Ritchie Remo will get the party in full swing, alongside Hugo Duncan and Friends including Boxcar Brian, Susan McCann and
Country Harmony.

The UK’s leading Garth Brooks Tribute Jason Hughes and local singer Justin McGurk and The Boogie Men will play support with Orlaith and Mollie.
