Police are investigating reports of gunshots being fired outside a property in Derry /Londonderry.
Masked men smashed windows of a house and car in Dove Gardens at around 11pm last night, after failing to gain entry.
Two occupants in the house at the time escaped uninjured.
Chief Inspector Paul McCracken said: “It was reported to police that shortly after 11pm a number of masked males attempted to smash the front door of the property.
"The suspects did not gain entry to the house, however, they are reported to have smashed windows of a vehicle parked outside. The two occupants of the house were not physically injured in the incident.
“Police are investigating reports that shots were fired during the incident.
“We are appealing for anyone who was in the Dove Gardens area at the time of the incident and saw any suspicious activity, or who knows anything about the incident to contact detectives at Strand Road Criminal Investigation Branch."
