A video has been shared on Facebook appearing to show three teenage girls facing "disgusting" racist abuse in Belfast City Centre.
The incident is alleged to have happened yesterday evening.
The video appears to show a woman yelling, "I've been homeless for the last ******* three years when they walk into the country and get ******* everything" at the 14-year-old girls.
It was shared by Grainne McKinney who said "I know Belfast is messed up at the best of times, but watching those videos I’ve never felt so ashamed of this city."
Sergeant Nicola McHenry said: “We received reports yesterday evening that a blonde-haired female was shouting racial abuse at three other females who were sitting on a bench in the Donegall Square West area of the city.
“Police responded to the incident but were unable to locate the female who is described as being in her late teens or twenties and at the time was wearing a spotty raincoat and black leggings.
“If anyone has any further information about this incident, they should contact police on the non-emergency number 101, quoting reference 1352 of 10/6/17.
“Alternatively, if someone would prefer to provide information without giving their details they can contact the independent charity Crimestoppers and speak to them anonymously on 0800 555 111.”
