Two men have been arrested after a man was assaulted in Belfast city centre.
A cyclist in his 20s sustained injuries to his head, after being thrown off his bike, kicked and punched.
It happened just before 2:30pm on Monday afternoon, close to the junction of Waring Street and Victoria Street.
The 22 & 28 year-olds have been detained on suspicion of attempted grievous bodily harm with intent.
Inspector David McBride said,
"This was a vicious assault and I am appealing to anyone who was in the area around this time and saw what happened to contact us. I would also appeal to any driver in the area at the time who has a dash cam fitted to their vehicle to check their footage.
"Anyone with information is asked to call us on the non emergency number 101, quoting reference number 754 of 06/08/18.
“Alternatively, information can also be provided to the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 which is 100% anonymous and gives people the power to speak up and stop crime.”
