Bannisders beaten on penalties by Institute at The RIverside Stadium after 1-1 draw
There was to be no early season silverware for Coleraine last night, after Oran Kearney's men lost out in the North West Cup Final The Bannsiders were beaten 4-2 on penalties by Institute after a 1-1 draw at the Riverside Stadium.
With one eye on this Friday's game with Dungannon Swifts, Coleraine made several changes to the side that drew 1-1 with Linfield. On-loan striker Jordan Allan captaining the side on the night.
'Stutes took an early lead through Alex Pomeroy, only for Coleraine's Sammy Morrow to level the scores later in the opening half. However, neither side could find a winner, meaning the game would be decided from 12 yards

It was left to 'stutes goalscorer Pomeroy to have the final say, slotting home the decisive penalty, giving Kevin Deery's men the trophy.
Next up for the Stripes is a return to league action, when they host Dungannon Swifts on Friday night.
