In GAA, in Round Two of the Dr McKenna Cup, Tyrone beat Ulster University 2-17 to 1-07.
Tyrone, five in-a-row winners in the McKenna Cup, haven’t been knocked out before the semi-final stage since 2008. Yesterday’s match (Sunday) was postponed from Saturday.
But it was hard luck for Derry as Down beat them 15 points to 14.
Fermanagh’s first win of the season saw them triumph over St Mary’s 2-13 to 13 points. Next up is Antrim on Wednesday night.
