'I'm A Celebrity ... Get Me Out Of Here!' star Maura Higgins has revealed she had a boyfriend when she went on 'Love Island' back in 2019 but she was angry with him after finding something she didn't like on his phone and set about making him pay.
The 'I'm A Celebrity ... Get Me Out Of Here!' star shot to fame on the ITV dating show back in 2019 but she's now revealed she wasn't single or looking for love when she headed to Mallorca - revealing she had a partner back home and was angry with him after finding something she didn't like on his phone so she set about getting her revenge.
During her appearance on 'I'm A Celeb', she explained the situation to her campmates saying: "So I had a boyfriend at the time [when I went on] 'Love Island'."
Maura, 34, admitted she really liked him but she decided to go ahead with the TV appearance anyway and she was fuelled by anger after snooping in his phone.
She said: "I went" ‘I’m gonna get revenge on him'. I had a plan and no word of a lie, when he went to the gym the next day I got his toothbrush and I filmed myself scrubbing in the verges, he had a dentist appointment that day! ...
"I went in [into 'Love Island'] like a bull in a china shop because I was so angry about that whole thing."
Maura went on to date Curtis Pritchard after meeting him on 'Love Island' but they split seven months after leaving the villa.
She's now appearing "I'm A Celebrity' alongside stars including Tulisa, Jane Moore, Danny Jones and Coleen Rooney, who faced her first trial over the weekend when she was voted to take part in a challenge alongside BBC Radio 1 presenter Dean McCullough, 32.
Wayne Rooney's wife was covered in insects during the Bushtucker Trial - which was dubbed 'Absolute Carnage'.
The former footballer - who has four sons with Coleen - also revealed he is missing his wife and finds it strange to be watching her on the TV at home.
During an appearance on 'I'm a Celebrity: Unpacked', Wayne said: "We are missing her so much and it’s been the longest I’ve been without speaking to her since we were kids.
"For the children, it’s difficult obviously, because not being able to speak to their mum. Coleen’s parents are helping out massively because obviously, I’m over in Plymouth living there at the minute with my work.
"It's strange to be honest seeing her out there in the jungle. She's doing a great job showing her character and personality. She's doing us all proud."
