Georgian Prop joins on a short-term deal until 19th December
Anton Peikrishvili is to join Ulster Rugby on a short term deal to alleviate the lack of first team tighthead props at Les Kiss' disposal. The 28 year old has plied his trade in France since the 2007/08 season playing for Agen, Castres, Brive and Bayonne.
Peikrishvili has 28 caps for Georgia, making his first appearance for the international side back in 2008. Les Kiss said he was happy with the news and praised Operations Director Bryn Cunningham for his quick recruitment. Given the injuries to Wiehahn Herbst, Ricky Lutton and Jonny Simpson, Kiss said that it was important for Ulster to "explore what short-term options were open"

Kiss also praised the flexibility of the IRFU in allowing the recruitment to go ahead. The Ulster director said that they told the IRFU of their desire to give the likes of academy props Ross Kane and Craig Trenier a chance to represent the first team.
Kiss added that Peikrishvili is an impressive scrummage and praised his mobility about the pitch. Kiss said that his mobility was "important to the style of rugby [Ulster] wish to play".
